Today’s patients, especially those completing clear aligner therapy do not want wires or a Hawley type retainer. The clear invisible retainer has been available for years, however this appliances lacks rigidity and support. Is a Clear Fusion Hybrid Retainer the right appliance for all patients?
Only a dental professional would know. Chances are if a Clear Invisible Retainer is indicated, a Clear Fusion Hybrid would also be acceptable.
Can we use a Clear Fusion Hybrid Retainer as an Anterior Aligning Appliance? Yes, this is not a problem. Our lab will block out the bonded lingual and then fabricate the appliance.
Our retainers are a combination of thermal material and acrylic fused together. When these materials are combined, they compliment each other so well, it is amazing. Not only is the Clear Fusion Retainer visually appealing, but it also has rigidity and structure, which gives the appliance the durability Invisible Retainers are lacking. Can a patient wear a Bonded 3X3 lingual and still wear a Clear Fusion Retainer?

Absolutely, our default color is Clear. We feel that adding color gives the appliance personality. The color option enhances the appeal of the retainer. The colors that we offer are all transparent. Our favorite colors include: Raspberry, Turquoise, Royal Blue, Forest Green, Cherry Red, Apple Green, Chartreuse, Teal…. the list goes on. We can tie-dye any two colors. We also have Glitter: Gold, Silver and Multi-color.
In order to provide your patient with the best fitting appliance possible, we believe that all brackets and bands should be removed before the impression is taken and the appliance is made. Brackets and bands have a tendency to distort models. It is our belief that High Quality models will always lead to perfect fitting Appliances!
Clear Fusion recommends PVS impressions. Alginates are acceptable; however these impressions should be poured immediately. As mentioned before, it is our belief that High Quality models will always lead to perfect fitting Appliances!

How long can we expect a Clear Fusion Appliance to last?
This is a great question. The life span of a Clear Fusion Appliance will be directly dependant upon each patient. With proper care, longevity should not be a problem. However, if the patient is a bruxer, the life span will be considerably decreased.
How should a patient clean their Hybrid Retainer?
The best way to take care of the Hybrid Retainer is to use any commercial orthodontic retainer cleaner that is on the market. Follow the directions for the specific cleaner.
What is the best advice Clear Fusion can give to patients?
Wear your retainer as prescribed. Keep your retainer clean. If you are not wearing the appliance it should be
placed back into the retainer case immediately.
